Priscilla Hall Memorial Foundation Golf Day to Help Raise Money for Jakarta Komodos Junior Rugby Club

Members of the Jakarta Komodos Rugby Club have been encouraged to sign up for the Priscilla Hall Memorial Foundation’s (PHMF) Golf Day at Cengkerang Golf Club next Thursday (Dec. 1), to help raise money for disadvantaged children in Indonesia. The charity event will also feature a rugby-themed hole, as well as an auction of donated items to raise money for the Komodos’ junior rugby development programme, with proceeds to contribute to our team of players from the Mama Sayang Orphanage.

Stephen Barber, who is helping organize the event, said the annual PHMF Golf Day was a fantastic initiative to raise money for the Mama Sayang players, who are planning on participating in the Bangkok International Rugby Tens 2017, as well as disadvantaged children in general.

“This year we will have a ‘Rugby Golf Hole,’ which involves each player using a rugby ball, instead of a golf ball, for this hole,” Barbs said. “The players must either kick or pass the ball in order to kick it to the green and then into a ‘special hole’.”

A picture is worth a thousand words.

For the auction, the Jakarta Komodos Junior Rugby Club has donated the following items:

  • All Blacks’ jersey signed by the Rugby World Cup winning team donated by AIG, with funds raised for the Bangkok tour
  • The annual “Boomerang Ball” – a new ball signed by the 2016 Wallabies organized in conjunction with the Australian Rugby Union and former Wallabies captain John Eales
  • Business Lunch with Three People and Australian Rugby Legend John Eales in Sydney’ – arranged by Barbs and Eales

“As you know, PHMF are fantastic sponsors of the Jakarta Komodos Women’s Rugby Team,” Barbs said. “I am sure this will be yet another great PHMF Golf Day and it will be great to see you out at Cengkerang Golf Club on Thursday, December 1.”
