Kiwi Jamie Wellington, a teacher at the Jakarta International School (JIS) as well as their rugby coach, is survived by loving wife Lissie and their two daughters, Annabelle and Josephine.

Jamie was one of the Komodos’ longest serving players, recognised for his skill, approach to the game and his sportsmanship. Simsy paid tribute to Jamie’s role as part of the backbone of the club, including his organisational and budgeting skills. “A head of the club is most apt [description] for Jamie. Budgeting for this, arranging for that,” he said, adding that Jamie had devoted a lot of his time and energies into behind-the-scenes club activities. “Jamie, while you are putting the heavenly coffers in order, don’t forget to place six gold coins on the [Komodos] tree.”
