Jakarta Komodos Rugby Club off to Bangkok International Rugby Tens
A major festival on the Asian Rugby calendar, the Bangkok International Rugby Tens Tournament is a competition for all age groups. The Jakarta Komodos Rugby Club’s U10 Junior Team and Senior Men’s Team will be participating. It will be the juniors’ first time taking part in this competition and also marks the first time the two teams will travel together.
The tournament, on the 27th and 28th of this month, is a first-class, highly social event. Elements of this world-renowned Thailand city have been incorporated in activities to ensure a fabulous time for all. The tournament, in its tenth year, has become a well-known festival of rugby, and a time of family enjoyment for all age groups.
In December ’15, the U10 Junior Team closed the season on a high note in Singapore at the Centaurs Mini and Youth Rugby Tournament by winning five of their seven matches, drawing one and only conceding the single loss. We are sure they will continue their momentum and are looking forward to bringing some silverware back to Jakarta.
This will be the first tournament in 2016 for the Komodos Senior Team, which finished on top of the Jakarta League in 2015. Our team has recently completed a tough training camp in Lombok, continues to practice hard and is well prepared to make an impact in Bangkok. The team takes on the Jakarta Bantengs at Jagorawi tomorrow (Saturday, Feb 13), so please come and support. BYO
