Jakarta Komodos Junior Rugby (JKJR) Tours in 2015/16

With our veteran team, the Dino’s heroic win of the BALI 10s Veteran’s Championship Cup in October, everyone wants to know where and when will our Jakarta Komodos Junior Rugby (JKJR) teams triumph in their footsteps. Here is how we plan to close the 2015 season and start 2016:

Under 15 Boys and Under 18 Girls:

You will be up next, participating in the Jakarta Schools Rugby Union Competition (JAKSRUC), which is a 7s competition. We will have one U15 Boys team and two U18 Girls teams this year. Participating schools will have U18 Boys also, many with boys introduced to ruby by the Komodos. JAKSRUC dates and venues to mark:

  • Nov 7: Sekolah Pelita Harapan International at Lippo Village
  • Nov 21: Jakarta Intercultural School
  • Nov 28: Komodos at Jagorawi Golf and Country Club (Under 15 Boys only)
  • Dec 5: Global Jaya School (Under 18 Boys and Girls only)
  • Jan 23: Sekolah Pelita Harapan International at Lippo Village

Under 7, 9 and 12 Players

Our U7, U9 and U12 players will end 2015 with a tour to Singapore, while our first 2016 tour will be in Bangkok in age categories that are to be announced. Be sure the pencil the dates and details below:

Centaurs International Mini & Youth Rugby Tournament – 2015, Singapore

Date: 5-6 December 2015
Where: Turf City, Bukit Timah, Singapore
Teams: U7 (born in 2008 or earlier), U9 (2006 or earlier) and U12 (2003 or earlier).
Our U7 team, also called the Geckos, will play 8-a-side, 2-handed touch rugby. The U9 and U12 teams will play 10-a-side Mini-Rugby that has been modified for safety and competition purposes.

2016 Tours and Tournaments for Jakarta Juniors

Dates and tours for 2016 will be confirmed next year. Our bucket list of dream tours include the following so far:

  • Bangkok International Rugby Tens, February
  • Tanglin Rugby Club Cup Invitational, Singapore, April or May
  • Crown Jakarta Komodos 10s, April or May (7s tournament in parallel with the Senior Cup)
  • Bali 10s, October (10-a-side mini-rugby tournament in parallel with the Senior Tour)
  • JAKSRUC 2016, November – January
  • Singapore Centaurs International Mini & Youth Rugby Tournament
