Jakarta Komodos Junior Rugby Club in First Tournament this Saturday

The Jakarta Komodos Junior Rugby (JKJR) Club Under 18s girls, and Under 18s and Under 15s boys will compete in their first tournament of the new season, the Sekolah Pelita Harapan (SPH) International at Lippo Village, Karawaci, this Saturday (Nov. 7). This is the first round of the Jakarta Schools Rugby Union Competition (JAKSRUC), which is a 7s competition. Please note that all age group teams will also train at the SPH Grounds and will be expected to help support their club members. The junior teams will also play in exhibition matches during the intervals.

JKJR sponsors Aqua will be providing drinks, while other drinks, fruit and snacks will be available for purchase at the SPH canteen. Of primary importance, however, is that the JKJR will be holding a sausage sizzle to help five junior members of the club play at the Centaurs International Mini & Youth Rugby Tournament in Singapore in December.

In regards to the Singapore tournament, we have received news that there is a possibility it could be cancelled due to the haze generated by the forest fires in Indonesia but organisers are hoping the prospect of rain over the next 10 days may have a positive impact. The club will keep all members updated but should you wish to purchase tickets now, please ensure they are refundable.

Training will return to Jagorawi on November 14, with the second leg of the JAKSRUC tournament to be held at the Jakarta Intercultural School (JIS) on the 21st.
