Ex-All Black Byron Kelleher to Lead Rugby Training Session for Jakarta Kids on Saturday
All Blacks’ legend Byron Kelleher will lead a rugby training session for girls and boys of all ages at the British Jakarta School this Saturday morning (July 8).
The training, organized by the British Chamber of Commerce (Britcham), is open to any children interested in trying out the sport ahead of the Jakarta Komodos’ new rugby season starting on August 26.
Participants are encouraged to be at BJS by 8:00am, with the two-hour training programme kicking off at 8:30am.
In addition to the 57-cap Kelleher, a number of senior players from the Jakarta Komodos Rugby Club are expected to attend to dispense their rugby wisdom, as well as a number of coaches from the Komodos’ extensive junior rugby development programme.
Further details are listed in the image below.
Training will be finished by 10:30am, leaving plenty of time to get to Aphrodite Bar and Restaurant in Kuningan for the deciding Lions versus All Blacks test match, which kicks off at 2:30.
Britcham has organized a fund-raising event with money earmarked for sports development, including rugby, in Indonesia.
The Jakarta Komodos Junior Rugby Club season commences on August 26, with our first competition being the inaugural Bali Junior Rugby 10s Tournament 2017 at the Changgu Club in Bali on Sept. 23 and 24. Further details are available HERE.
